Pep Guardiola has denied that Kevin De Bruyne has a £223million release clause in his Manchester City contract.

If you look at the big Clubs in Europe, not too many players of his age play.

Sterling is into the final two years of his contract in Manchester and Guardiola reiterated his desire to tie the former Liverpool winger to a long-term deal. According to The Times, Sterling, who now earns £175k a week, wants a 100k a week pay rise which would see him become one of the highest paid players in the Premier League.

"I had the time of my life there, when the world was our oyster, with some incredible players".

"The other day, I met his parents and you often understand how the children are when you know the parents".

Sterling's fellow winger Leroy Sane returns to club action after a hectic worldwide break with Germany.

He made 161 appearances for Valencia between 2006-2010, during which time he became a key player for Spain, winning the European Championship in 2008 and the World Cup in 2010.

However, City dropped their first points in a 1-1 draw with newcomers Wolves, before edging Newcastle 2-1 prior to the worldwide break.

"It's normal after what happened last season that people ask about him".

"He is progressing well", said Guardiola.

"He will be so important for the Club", Guardiola stated in part two of his pre-Fulham press conference. There's no doubt about that.

"It's a challenge for him and not just him - everybody".

The Belgian is now sidelined by a knee injury that was expected to keep him sidelined for three months when first diagnosed in August.

"He has to respond in the right way". He will grow up.

"Guardiola has taught me to stick to a more determined zone and wait for the ball to get to me to give us the upper hand".
