Arsenal resurgence continues with 2-1 win at Newcastle

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has opened up about his relationship with Mesut Ozil after there were reports of a bust-up at the start of the season.

The 28-year-old played 180 minutes for Wales against the Republic of Ireland and Denmark during the recent worldwide break and Emery thinks Ramsey is just feeling the effects of playing too much for his country.

However, the coach, on numerous occasions, explained it was because Ozil had an illness and claimed he had no problems with Ozil who played for Germany in the FIFA World Cup 2018 held in Russian Federation before resigning from their squad.

Newcastle made a bright start and found plenty of space down both flanks to win four corners inside the opening 15 minutes to put Arsenal under early pressure.

Asked how he feels scoring on his 200th appearance, the German was quoted as saying by the BBC: "Really, 200?"

Emery said: "In the first half, we couldn't control the match like we wanted and we needed that control to impose our ideas, our possession and our positioning".

Hopefully the rest will do him good as we need Ramsey to be 100 percent fit for our Premier League clash with Everton next Sunday as we head in to a busy period that sees us competing in three different competitions over the coming weeks. Congratulations to the whole team, we played well. Newcastle were good, aggressive.

'The second half went very well for us and I think it was an important three points for us. I want players when I change those on the field, and they are not in the first 11, to be angry... with ambition to play and help the team and to stay on the pitch.

Now, former Arsenal defender Winterburn has warned the Gunners that the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea FC are likely to try and snap up the midfielder next year if it becomes clear that he won't sign a new deal at the club. Ozil will have a greater role in the squad this season as Arsenal look to finish on a respectable place this season.
