FEMA warns about hurricane as D.C

Red Sox manager Alex Cora, a native of Puerto Rico, objected to President Donald Trump's comments on Twitter about the devastation Hurricane Maria did to his home in 2017.

In the weeks after the storm hit, the Puerto Rican government said 64 people died on the island.

Studies estimated the death toll ranged from 800 to more than 4,600. Trump in his tweets blamed Democrats for inflating the numbers. He says, "Then, like magic, '3000 PEOPLE KILLED'". These activists have not made any attempt to count the actual number of hurricane-related deaths. "When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths", Trump claimed in a tweet Thursday.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter Thursday to lambast an official report on Puerto Rico following Hurricanes Irma and Maria a year ago, accusing Democrats of inflating the number of deaths.

Public health experts have estimated that almost 3,000 perished because of the effects of Hurricane Maria.

Trump will travel to the region early to middle of next week and the trip will not disrupt any rescue or recovery efforts, according to Sanders.

"Although you don't believe it... nearly a million boxes of water that were never delivered to the villages", posted Abdiel Santana, a photographer working for a Puerto Rican state police agency who took the pictures. "Before, during, and after the two massive hurricanes, the President directed the entire Administration to provide unprecedented support to Puerto Rico", White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said.

"No death is partisan and our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico deserved better from @realDonaldTrump before, during, and after the hurricane", Democratic nominee and Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum tweeted.

The study - done by the school's Milken Institute of Public Health - reported that the deaths occurred between September of last year and February of this year. "Bad politics. I love Puerto Rico!" he added.

Rossello said Puerto Ricans "do not deserve to have their pain questioned" and backed the study.

The president's tweets are problematic for Republicans trying to refrain from criticizing the president while distancing themselves from his at-times controversial remarks. "It would have been far worse if this president had not put the military in there, FEMA in there for a longer period of time than for any other hurricane that I'm aware of", Dobbs said during that conversation. "When Trump arrived in Puerto Rico, he threw paper towels at the people when they were actually asking for help and while he was doing that, people were dying all around him", said Ortiz.

Trump @realDonaldTrump "When Trump visited the island territory last October, OFFICIALS told him in a briefing 16 PEOPLE had died from Maria".

Earlier this week, Trump called the response to Hurricane Maria an "unsung success".
