Such as it stands, though, Town tells the story of a village that is under siege by various monsters. The announcement was part of the reveals made at Nintendo Direct event.

While they're hard at work on two Pokémon games, another project called Town (Working Title) is also in development for Switch.

Adam Bankhurst is a news writer for IGN who has all the faith in the world in Game Freak and is excited to vacation in this troubled village next year. Fortunately, villagers with unique abilities occasionally help the player protect the place, while digging deep to uncover a mysterious secret that the village has been hiding. There is a trailer for the game which you can see below, but other than that, we'll have to wait until Nintendo or GameFreak have more info. Game Freak would then go outside of Nintendo's publishing, working with Sega to release Tembo the Badass Elephant and self-publishing Giga Wrecker on PC.

Town is planned to release in 2018 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

The game is now titled Town, but that seems to be a working title that will likely change during the course of the game's development.

Game Freak has based Town on creatures that are antagonistic in nature, therefore, serving as a threat to you as a player and your village.
