Zakynthos rockfall: Greece tourists film aftermath of cliff collapse ZlotoNews

At least seven people received minor injuries. One local tour guide compared the rockfall to a "four-storey building falling onto the beach".

Coast guard and fire brigade officials confirmed that the injuries sustained were not life-threatening. Authorities later said everyone who had arrived at the beach on tourist boats had been accounted for.

"There was a rumble and a rock fell, followed by a larger rock and then another".

Videos show two large sections of limestone crashing down, sending large waves onto the beach and overturning vessels.

He said: "I thought more was coming and I just started running".


It is not clear how many people were on the beach, which lies at the foot of a 200-metre cliff, at about... O'Connell described the chaos, with families scrambling to rush to safety on the boats in the bay.
