Josh Gordon misled Browns about nature of promotional shoot

The Browns chose to leave him behind when they traveled to New Orleans, and later said they meant to release him. At least five other people were present as Gordon went through football-related drills, and after about 90 minutes of shooting Friday, the source said Gordon pulled up limping while running a 40-yard dash and grabbed at his hamstring. He missed training camp to receive treatment and the Browns were cautiously optimistic he would help them this season. But in going from hapless Cleveland to the NFL's model franchise in New England, a better opportunity has never been in front of him. Gordon's 2013 campaign was the stuff of legend, hauling in 87 catches for 1,646 yards (nine touchdowns), playing alongside a number of mediocre-at-best quarterbacks.

If Gordon can stay on the field by behaving, it'll be a huge boon for New England as they have been going through pass-catchers like hotcakes since losing the Super Bowl to the Eagles. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Gordon injured his hamstring at a promotional shoot, and there's a belief that how the injury occurred is part of the reason why Cleveland finally cut ties with him.

Patriots players didn't have much to say about the acquisition on Monday afternoon. "We see what he does when he's on the field".

"You want to know that the guys you are lining up next to that they've got it - they've got their assignment, they've got their responsibility taken care of. So I guess I'll leave it at that for now".

Honestly an 11 personnel grouping of Gordon, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, and Zach Ertz may be the most potent collection of weapons the Eagles have had in my lifetime. On Sunday, the team played with three - Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson.

"Well, we've had quite a few roster moves the first couple of weeks of the season with receiver", Brady said.

Look, the Patriots take chances on people, and they don't always work out.
