Boston locals return Red Sox banner, get nothing in return

The Boston Red Sox have not yet clinched this year's American League East division championship, but a banner marking the accomplishment has already been accidentally unveiled. The New York Yankees prevented Boston from winning their third straight division title on Tuesday night, but the championship is imminent.

Three friends hold up the American League East division championship banner, which is created to hang on the front of Fenway Park. However, the banner has yet to arrive at its destination.

The Red Sox say they were aware that the banner had gone missing from one of their signage vendors. "I'm like, 'Pull over, what is it?'"

"I'm going to give them back the banner, and that's going to be the good luck charm", Iacuzzi said.

The team is expected to send a courier to retrieve the banner from the men on Wednesday. The three fans would like to see something in return.

"We're hoping they do the right thing", they said. "It was then we realized we got some history here". Iacuzzi told Anderson. "We don't know what we want".

Iacuzzi, on the other hand, said he was just trying to "do the right thing".

The Red Sox have another chance to clinch the AL East divisional championship on Wednesday with a win in NY.
