Huami Amazfit Verge smartwatch with all-day heart rate monitor goes official

The 390mAh battery inside the Amazfit Verge is claimed to offer up to 5-days of battery life on single charge on normal usage. Further, there is built-in NFC support to enable a bus card swipe feature in China.

The Amazfit Verge's biggest selling point is its all day heart rate monitoring feature. The highlight announcement is the brand new Huami Amazfit Verge smartwatch which comes at a really competitive price tag. It is for purchase through JD and Tmall in three colour options, Moonlight White, Sky Grey, and Twilight Blue.

The Amazfit Verge carries a Gorilla Glass 3 protected round (no flat tire) 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a 360 x 360 resolution. Under the hood is a dual core processor and 512MB of RAM. The watch can detect and inform the user about abnormal heart rate patterns too.

Huami is one of the popular makers of smartwatches in China and the company has just released a couple of new wearables in the country. The Amazfit Verge comes with an array of sensors which include Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, air pressure sensor and wearing detection sensor. Theres also the Xiao digital assistant, which can answer your questions. For starters, the Amazfit Verge seems to fall much more in line with features found in a watch built around Google's Wear OS, although that particular OS isn't found here. There is also integration to let you send messages to your friends or receive their messages - without using your smartphone. Similarly, there is GPS/ GLONASS support to add accuracy to your activity tracking. The company has launched Verge smartwatch and Health Band 1S. That's packed with sensors as well and Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, NFC, and geopositioning systems are included for connectivity. Furthermore, the smartwatch is compatible with devices running Android 4.4 or iOS 9.0 and later.
