Since it has become so hard to deliver innovation in smartphones given the maturity of the products, Huawei has turned to their earbuds for some inspiration in creative ways to combine functions and offer consumers a unique selling point.

The video shows a Huawei Mate 20 equipped not only with a powerhouse hardware spec including the fastest mobile CPU in the world, the Kirin 980, along with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, but also Huawei's "something new" square rear camera array.

Unlike the AirPods, however, it seems that the Freebuds 2 Pro case has Qi wireless charging built in, as demonstrated in the image. Don't you just love when the plot thickens with every new phone leak? Wireless charging will be a bit slower, but still, a great option for when you're on the go.

In addition to this wireless charging party trick - which we think is rather cool - Freebuds 2 Pro will also support Hi-Res Wireless Audio, allowing for bitrates up to 560 Kbps (i.e. better quality than most of your music is likely to be).

In more images, he shows off the Freebuds 2 Pro, which look like a almost ideal AirPods knockoff. Just flip the Mate 20 over and drop the charging case on the back to juice it up. The leaked images (reposted below) show that the Huawei Freebuds 2 Pro are undeniably clones of Apple's famous truly wireless headphones.

According to sources, the Mate 20 Pro will also sport a headphone jack. Huawei indicates the new earbuds use bone conduction technology to help isolate a user's voice, making the earbuds more effective when used for voice commands.
