No footage, obviously, but Peele's voiceover with that theme music - and frankly, the mere existence of this project - is giving us shivers. Last year, it was reported that the Academy Award-winning screenwriter was bringing back Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone for a hotly debated third reboot over at CBS All Access. We could really use a show like The Twilight Zone now, and Peele's canny ability to merge genre thrills with social metaphor is a flawless match. The brief, effective teaser above - which recreates the opening titles of the show - starts off with Serling's classic narration, only for Peele's voice to slowly take over by the time the footage ends.

"The realization, for me, was that it was an opportunity to attempt to continue with Serling's mission", Peele said in the past.

The reboot of the Twilight Zone is slated for 2019 on streaming platform CBS All Access.

Oscar-winning screenwriter Jordan Peele is taking on an iconic role: host of the The Twilight Zone.

"Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours", Peele shared of his new duties with The Hollywood Reporter.

Every episode of the original series is available to stream now on CBS All Access.

The Twilight Zone doesn't have a premiere date yet, but we'll be sure to let you know as soon as it does. Announced in this video from CBS All Access, Peele has opted to host/narrate the series himself in addition to producing the show.
