News of a potential revival at Hulu first popped up in August, when Variety reported that Bell and show creator Rob Thomas were involved in early talks with Warner Bros.

"This is a very important marshmallow announcement", Bell says in her Instagram video, which she directly addresses to the show's cult following.

Here's the official logline from Hulu: Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town's lifeblood tourist industry.

When it premiered 14 years ago, Veronica Mars tackled a number of issues that would come to be key talking points for our era: income inequality, immigration, sexual assault, technology and privacy, startups and social accountability, and more. It's slated for sometime in 2019 and the show won't interfere with Bell's role on The Good Place.

Veronica Mars originally aired in 2004 on UPN, a forerunner of The CW, and it featured Bell as a teenager turned private detective.

Thomas added that he wanted to do a "six-episode Veronica Mars mystery". Veronica's initial case involved solving her best friend's murder. The new season will be 8 episodes long, released on Hulu.

Mars and Thomas previously raised over $5 million in 2013 to create the Veronica Mars feature film after the series was canceled. Jason Dohring is now on iZombie, Enrico Colantoni is on Adversity, Tina Majorino is on Scorpio, and Krysten Ritter is starring on Jessica Jones. We suspect that a lot of them will also be back for the potential revival series, pending their schedules.

Last fall, Bell promised that a Veronica Mars revival "is going to happen" when Thomas called her in the middle of a Facebook Live video. Let us know in the comment section below!
