"Wow, that's a crisis", joked Klopp who went on to outline his satisfaction with Salah's contributions to what has been a 100 percent start to the campaign for Liverpool.

"Of course. Of course everyone expects that, that is clear".

"You would like to think if we can remain in the game and have a good platform, that will enable us to create chances and take chances if they come around". But it's completely normal that everyone expects this.

"No one remembers that (his slow start last season), it is really no problem".

Salah also gave the ball away in the build-up to Kylian Mbappe's equaliser in the Champions League for Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, although Roberto Firmino struck a late victor at Anfield.

"We want to compete for every competition like we did past year, and we wanted to start well this time", Van Dijk was quoted as saying by beIN Sports.

Liverpool want to be the ugliest team to play against, says Klopp

"Yes, he lost the ball before we conceded the second [PSG] goal, but it was a very intense game and things like this happen constantly", Klopp said. "I saw videos of him when he was 17 and he destroyed defensive lines as he is doing now". I would never do that, the players should never do that - only the supporters are allowed to do that.

The clash with Real Madrid skipper that saw Salah injure his shoulder and trudge off in the first-half of last season's Champions League final has been well-documented and Keown does not believe the Egyptian has got over it.

"Yes, he [Firmino] is ready", Klopp said. It's a different situation and that's all.

"He had, for sure, moments like this, but he's such a positive [person]".

Liverpool and Chelsea are among the only two sides to still have a 100 per cent record in the Premier League and the Merseyside outfit will seek to extend their brilliant start against an inconsistent Southampton side.
