The first "Making a Murderer" recounted the story of Steven Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassey, who were convicted in the 2005 slaying of Wisconsin photographer Teresa Halbach. To keep the "whodunnit" aspect alive, the docuseries raises questions it can't answer so that you're never completely certain if Avery and Dassey are innocent.

The hit Netflix documentary series shocked audiences worldwide, detailing the trial of Stephen Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey, who were accused of murder. Now, three years later, we will continue this harrowing true crime thriller as the case continues.

Over the course of 10 new episodes, Season 2 of Making a Murderer provides an in-depth look at the high-stakes post-conviction process, exploring the emotional toll the process takes on all involved. Viewers will be introduced to Kathleen Zellner, Avery's post-conviction lawyer, who specializes in wrongful convictions.

It's been nearly three years since the first series launched, with countless similar true crime documentaries following in its wake hoping to capture some of the public appetite whipped up by the murder conviction of Steve Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey. "We are thrilled to be able to share this new phase of the journey with viewers".

Dassey's post-conviction lawyers, Laura Nirider and Steven Drizin, will also be featured as they work to prove that his confession was involuntary.
