Mou urges Manchester United fans to stop singing his name

Newcastle have faced a hard early schedule, having already played five of last season's top six - United, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham.

'They are all over the place this year because they are constantly hearing the manager tell them they're not good enough. You can't make this up but it was a comeback inspired by Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez and most of all, Paul Pogba.

Speculation over Mourinho's position mounted before kick-off following United's poor start to the season and, with his team trailing 2-0 inside 10 minutes, the Portuguese boss looked like he could be on his way out.

The agent for Zinedine Zidane said the former Real Madrid coach is not interested in managing in England amid persistent reports that he will replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United. But for younger people, I think it's a problem'. This is not about me, this is about the football club they love.

Ayoze Perez says Newcastle must stick together as they search for their first Premier League win of the campaign.

"I beat Liverpool at Anfield 4-0 and I was amazed to hear the stadium singing Liverpool songs".

"And 3-2, amazing, but if it was 2-2 I think the feeling would be the same".

"The board has not backed Jose Mourinho either, though".

One win over a struggling side will convince nobody, but United were hugely impressive in the last half hour and had bombarded the away goal before Mata's breakthrough. We promised we would give absolutely everything without any fear, without any pressure, just the pressure of giving everything, and of course they gave everything.

Mata praised the vocal support for pushing the team towards their eventual win but admitted the fans deserved better than from the players especially because of the continuing off-field issues.

"We did so well for 70 minutes so it's a pity", said his opposite number Rafa Benitez. Last year, we were in the bottom five teams in the table in December, and still we finished 10th.

Mourinho, too, has hope and belief that has been absent in recent weeks, even if he claims there is a media "man hunt" against him.

"These football clubs, they are not made only of just victories and just hard moments, but always with pride".
