The New York Times reports that Kanye West will meet with President Trump and his son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner for lunch at the White House on Thursday.

The two men are expected to discuss prison reform, gang violence and and manufacturing resurgence in the US.

After Kanye West's very pro-Trump rant on Saturday Night Live last week, Ariana Grande took the opportunity to roast him a little bit on social media.

The meeting, first reported by The New York Times, comes after Kanye's controversial September 29 Saturday Night Live appearance in which he gave an unscripted speech praising the President and denouncing the Democratic Party. "They said, "Don't go out there with that hat on, '" West said of his red 'Make America Great Again" cap.

The timing of the White House visit is notable, coming just days after pop singer Taylor Swift broke her long silence on politics and announced her support of Democratic candidates in Tennessee's Senate and congressional races.

Similar to what his wife Kim Kardashian did a few months back, Kanye is going to have a meeting on the criminal justice system. They discussed the life sentence of grandmother Alice Marie Johnson on drug charges.

West has urged the black community to open their hearts to Trump instead of criticizing the president as a racist.

"West has previously announced his own plan to run for president in 2020, but has since tweeted "#2024", suggesting it is not clear whether he will challenge Mr Trump at the next election. In the clip, Davidson called out West for his antics after the SNL cameras went off during last week's premiere.
