With fans eagerly awaiting news of Borderlands 3, 2K Games and Gearbox have finally announced a new Borderlands related project.

Borderlands 2 VR, a virtual reality recreation of Borderlands 2, is making its way to PS VR headsets later this year.

There's an announcement trailer for Borderlands 2 VR attached below if you'd like to see a bit more of what the game will look like from a VR perspective. Players will be able to navigate through the menus by "pointing, clicking, dragging. and dropping".

All this comes with the option of exploring in first-person view, utilizing motion controllers and the PlayStation VR headset, whether players opt to use pointed transportation or direct movement with joysticks.

The long beloved Borderlands series has been around for almost a decade, and to mark the momentous occasion, 2K and Gearbox announced that Borderlands 2 VR will be coming to PlayStation VR on December 14, 2018.

Driving in-game vehicles has also been reworked to better fit with VR. Burleson dives a bit deeper into some of the VR-conscious changes the team had to make in the full write-up on the PlayStation Blog. Those who pre-order will also get a dynamic theme as a bonus. Called "BAMF Time" (BadAss Mega Fun Time), the new ability will give players the "speed and reflexes of a rabid skag", allowing them to dodge bullets, "pull off 360 no-scope headshots", or combine with Action Skills for even more powerful attacks.
