The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones offer significant upgrades to prior models by adding a almost edge-to-edge screen on the larger model, more display area on both phones, faster processors and an improved camera. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, with a pixel density of 443ppi.

With the Pixel 3, Google says you can "capture smiles, not blinks". The devices also have upgraded camera technology, which includes a feature called NightSight specially designed for flash-free shots in low-light conditions. Top Shot will take photos before you hit the shutter button and present you with the best one, even if you missed the moment or caught someone being ugly.

But in order to give you any semblance of productivity, you're going to need to type.

The zoom is now aided by a Super Res Zoom feature, which uses computation photography from the world of astronomy and scientific imaging to provide sharper details when you're zooming.

The Pixel 3 faces continued limited sales in the United States since Google again signed an exclusive distribution deal with wireless carrier Verizon Communications Inc (VZ.N) that means the device will get little marketing from other carriers. Utilising Google's imaging AI, Night Sight automatically colours and balances a photo to what it should look like. On the back of the phones is a 12.2MP 28mm f/1.8 (35mm equiv.) dual-pixel camera.

Vokoun is hoping that Pixel Slate will be the preferred computing device for "the on-the-go-professional who wants a device to get work done, but has downtime to watch videos". For double the storage, you'll pay $100 more.

Among the new devices we're expecting to see new Google Pixel 3 smartphones, a Pixel tablet, and a new Google Home Hub. To scan and translate text, find similar styles of clothing, or identify popular plants and animals, you can now long press in the Pixel 3 camera to easily invoke Lens.

The Google Home Hub adds a smart screen to your smart home. While Google's made smartphones and tablets in the past, the Home Hub is the first Google Assistant-powered device from the company that incorporates its "smart display" functionality, providing users with a touchscreen that lets users interact with their home in addition to using voice control.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL launch in the United Kingdom on 1 November and preorders are open now on the Google Store. Smart Compose suggests phrases in your emails so that you can draft them faster, on the go.

However, not included with the tablet is the separately sold $199 Pixel Slate Keyboard.

This year, Google raised the price considerably for the Pixel 3.

The Pixel Slate starts at $599 for an Intel Celeron Processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage.

The Hub is a Smart Display by Google that integrates Google Photos, a visual version of the Google Assistant, YouTube, and other services. Not to mention that it, too, uses an operating system (OS) that has only recently come up to speed with the demands of mobile professionals.

Both are mighty expensive, but we're willing to wager that the iPad Pro is more powerful than the base-level Pixel Slate.

The Pixel 3 line also incorporates front-firing speakers, which, as the Made by Google presenters claimed, have a 40% improvement in terms of sound depth and quality.
