His efforts earned him the Blues' Young Player of the Year award, with the 22-year-old being tipped for a bright future.

Chelsea defender Andrea Christensen has revealed he is finding it hard at Chelsea after slipping down the pecking order.

"It has been a hard start to the season", he told Danish publication BT.

The 22-year-old has been a regular starter under former manager, Antonio Conte but since the arrival of Sarri in the summer, the Denmark global has not played a single minute in the Premier League.

He said: "It has been difficult to get into the team, and when we're getting good results like we are right now, it only makes it even harder".

"It's a gift for the team, but for me personally it has been a hard start of the season". We play really good football, explosive, and offensively it's all you can wish for as a player.

The 22-year-old defender spent two years on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach before returning to become a key member of Antonio Conte's back three in 2017-18.

The 22-year-old told Danish football website Bold: 'Right now, it's not a good season for me, but I have to find some way to get back on. How?

"I can't stand having to have so much patience again".

"It's too early to talk about when I'm going to move, or if I'm going to move at all".

Christensen first linked up with Chelsea in 2012 after seeing his obvious potential noted within the youth ranks at Brondby.
