The Pokemon Company has shared a lot of new information about Meltan and how it can be caught in Pokemon GO.

Trainers, new Special Research quests will be coming to Pokemon Go and this time players will have a chance to catch the new Mythical Pokemon Meltan.

According to The Pokemon Company, the first step to catching Meltan is to send a Pokemon from the mobile game over to the Switch titles. Today, The Pokemon Company is offering significantly more details, including how to catch Meltan. The new video shows Professor Willow (from Pokemon Go) and Professor Oak (from the main series Pokemon games) discussing a new Mystery Box that holds the key to finding and capturing Meltan.

"Meltan will begin to appear once a Mystery Box is opened in Pokemon Go, but be careful-they'll only appear for the player that opened the Mystery Box", The Pokemon Company says on its website. When the Box is received, players will have a limited time of 30 minutes to catch Meltan in Pokemon Go before the Box closes.

In the video above, you can also catch a glimpse of Meltan out in the wild... which players will soon be able to see for themselves once Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee release for Nintendo Switch on November 16. It's a odd new addition to the Kanto region, but one that feels right at home in the wider world of Pokémon. Although the Switch games can be played without connecting to Pokemon Go, they are created to work with each other, allowing you to transfer Pokemon back and forth between platforms.

As previously mentioned, you'll only be able to transfer the original 151 Pokemon-as well as their Alolan forms-from Pokemon Go to Let's Go, and the process is a one-way transfer; any monsters you send to the Switch games can not be returned to Pokemon Go.

A Mystery Boy is obtained by sending a Pokemon from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu! or Let's Go, Eevee!
