We guessed it might be referring to a 4x rear camera array equipped device, and that is indeed what was revealed in Kuala Lumpur earlier today as the Samsung Galaxy A9 was launched.

The story of the Galaxy A9 (2018) starts and arguably ends with the four cameras around back.

The third sensor is the main camera with 24-megapixel resolution and f/1.7 aperture.

What's interesting about the Galaxy A9 is that it has plenty of decent features. Samsung has plonked a 6.3in FHD+ 1,080x2,220 Super AMOLED display into a rather neat and rounded chassis with gentle curves to the body but no wrap-around screen. Do note that you can expand that existing storage up to 512GB via microSD card slot but we are certain that it will take up a single SIM card slot.

Trusted seller Never MSRP has finally gone below that for a factory unlocked 128GB variant of Samsung's newest flagship phone, which now fetches an all-time low price of $769.99 in Metallic Copper, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black color options.

Samsung has just announced the new Galaxy A9 smartphone which features not two, but four rear cameras. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the Galaxy A9? It is followed by 10-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. As Android Authority reports, the phone runs a Snapdragon 660 and includes a headphone jack for old's time sake.

At an event held in Malaysia, Samsung Electronics announced the Galaxy A9, a smartphone built for those who love to explore, capture the moment and share it as they see it.

The Galaxy A9 will be available in the Philippines on December 1, with a suggested retail price of P32,990.

Apart from the four-camera setup, Galaxy A9 2018 offers mid-range level specifications. So far it looks to be shaping up to be a solid mid-range Android phone and with a retail price of £549 it looks to be offering some nice features without hitting the insane flagship price tags.

The Galaxy A9 (2018) release date is set for November, with the full list of markets still to be confirmed.
