Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend was reportedly released from a local Los Angeles hospital, but was readmitted days later because her blood cell count remained low, sending her into an emotional crisis.

According to reports, Gomez' mental health crisis hit while she was hospitalized for low white blood cell count one year after undergoing a kidney transplant.

Selena Gomez has had a very tough and emotional past few weeks.

The final Instagram she shared before allegedly entering treatment twice in the last month - once at the end of September and once in the first week of October - was posted on Sept. 23, and featured a smiling Gomez with a heartbreaking caption. She insisted on leaving the hospital, but when doctors refused she had "a meltdown", "freaked out", and "tried ripping the IVs out of her arm".

In 2017, Selena underwent a kidney transplant when her Lupus condition left her organs inflamed, though it seems the star is still suffering from the side-effects.

"She realized she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues", a source told People.

She is said to be now receiving dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) which is used to treat various mental health disorders and is something she has had in the past. "She has been actively writing new music, and moved to Orange County for a change of pace and a fresh breath of air. It was all about wellness and her health".

She wrote on Instagram: "Taking a social media break".

The 26-year-old singer and actress is said to be seeking treatment after a rumored panic attack brought on by medical setbacks.

She added, tellingly, "Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings".
