Taking to Instagram - does he do anything else these days? - he revealed the first poster for the new live-action remake of Aladdin.

The original Aladdin was released as an animated movie in 1992, starred Robin Williams as Genie and went on to take home two Oscars and earn $504 million at the worldwide box office.

In the 1992 film, this is where Aladdin finds the lamp: Atop a tower of stones in the middle of a lake of lava in the Cave of Wonders. As Aladdin and Jasmine fall in love, they must also face the evil Jafar, who plans to become Sultan by marrying Jasmine. Billy Magnussen plays Prince Anders and Nasim Pedrad is Dalia.

Disney has brought on producer Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) and executive producer Jonathan Eirich to work with director Guy Ritchie. The producer is Dan Lin (The LEGO Movie) with Golden Globe victor Marc Platt (La La Land), Jonathan Eirich (Death Note) and Kevin De La Noy (The Dark Knight Rises) serving as executive producers. Ritchie's film will include a couple of new songs, co-written by Disney music legend Alan Menken and writing duo Pasek & Paul - behind the likes of La La Land, The Greatest Showman, and stage musical Dear Evan Hansen.

Last year, Will Smith shared pics from the star-studded Aladdin set.
