Gareth Bale to miss Wales-Spain friendly, Giggs confirms

Bale has missed each of Wales's three training sessions this week and has been working on his own.

Giggs went on to say that Wales medical staff are in constant contact with Real Madrid's medical team and that Bale had asked to play tomorrow's game.

Against the most testing opponent of the Ryan Giggs regime, Wales were subjected to a gruelling examination that provided few reasons for optimism. "Bale improves two great qualities that Wales have which is speed and verticality".

He has transformed a team that disappointed so much in Russian Federation, into a side that is playing with a new found sense of energy, dominating the ball, passing it with speed and being ruthlessly clinical in front of goal, as proven against Croatia and Wales.

"It's a notable absence for Wales but it doesn't change our concept of the game".

Bale has played nine matches for Real so far this season, scoring four goals and assisting a further three strikes. Williams was all at sea for Spain's second and third goals but a lack of protection in front of him was certainly a factor in his poor individual display.

Paco Alcacer was, without any type of doubt, the man of the match against Wales in Spain's 4-1 win.

The coach expects another convincing performance against Wales from his players, who will face England in Monday's Nations League clash in Seville.

Defender Marc Bartra, who like Alcacer played under Enrique at Barca, got his first global goal with a header from a corner in the 74th, Spain's 12th strike under the new coach after beating Croatia 6-0 and England 2-1 in the Nations League. "It's a game that allows me to try out different things. To stay in the national team I have to maintain this dynamic". Spain's players will wear black armbands, and the match will be prefaced with a minute's silence, in honour of the victims of this week's floods in Mallorca.
