Impemba and Allen out as Tigers' broadcasters

Longtime Fox Sports Detroit broadcasters Rod Allen and Mario Impemba will not return to the booth next season after a disagreement turned physical on September 4, the Detroit Free Press reported, citing sources.

While the Detroit Tigers have a lot of work to do this offseason after barely winning 60 games on the season, there will be one change that is official. The altercation reportedly took place over a chair.

No word on who may replace the pair in the broadcast booth next season. Allen's agent called those accusations "utter fabrications". They had been calling games together on Fox Sports Detroit for almost 17 seasons before the incident. During the last month of the season, Matt Shepard and Kirk GIbson called the games for TV.

It's sad that the 17-year run that these two had came to an ending like this, which is something that no one could've predicted.

Impemba and Allen did not appear on air during any Tigers telecasts for the remainder of the season.

Neither has spoken publicly since the alleged incident.
