The game was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, but with first pitch for the Red Sox and Astros scheduled for 8:09 p.m. ET over at Fenway Park, the Bruins wanted to avoid conflict.

It comes as no surprise to anyone that Justin Verlander will get the ball in Game 1 and Gerrit Cole will start Game 2. David Price is slated to pitch Game 2 on Sunday.

In watching the game, it looked as if the Red Sox knew what Severino was going to throw, and when; apparently that was the case.

Sale pitched a crucial scoreless inning in relief Tuesday night in the Red Sox's series-clinching win against the Yankees.

What do you know, it was a 98 miles per hour fastball that Holt was able to foul off instead of one of those nasty sliders that Severino moved away from as the game progressed. Our fans, those Boston fans, New England fans, they're die-hard fans.

One thing to note about this game: If there is no NLCS Game 7 between the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers, this game will be moved to primetime.

Nationally, viewership for TBS baseball postseason coverage is up 40 percent over 2016 - the last time the network had the ALDS - and 13 percent over last year's NLDS, which included a decisive Cubs-Nationals Game 5.
