The Razer Phone 2 will feature an improved battery, faster processor, better camera, improved audio experience and a promise that numerous most popular games in the word have been optimised for use with the phone.

The rear camera array of the Razer Phone 2 now boasts two 12-MP sensors from Sony's IMX family, although the company doesn't say specifically which sensors it picked.

In spite of incremental improvements, the Razer Phone 2 unsurprisingly continues being touted as the ultimate option for mobile gamers.

Razer's new phone also comes with upgraded cameras although on paper it would seem like the Razer Phone 2 has the same hardware as the original. Also, it features a Vapor Chamber cooling system.

The first Razer Phone was an interesting handset with a slick 120Hz refresh rate to make gaming and swiping through apps feel nice and smooth, while solid speakers helped give the handset some proper audio chops.

When is the Razor Phone 2 coming out?

Other specs include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE Cat18 support (up to 1.2Gbit/s), 4,000mAh battery with Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0+ and wireless charging, and IP67 water and dust resistance rating. The company introduced a companion dock that provides that Qi induction and can hold the phone upright for viewing or collapse into a more traditional charging-pad posture. The rear Razer logo is now Chroma-enabled, meaning it supports a full range of colors and has fancy patterns like Razer's gaming peripherals. The phone also includes Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4+ suite for a zero-to-50% charge in half an hour.

It's unclear if the transparent Razer Phone 2 will cost any more or have the same internals. A custom Nova Launcher implementation based on Android 8.1 Oreo is part of the newly announced device, whereas the phone has been optimized for a broad range of popular titles such as Marvel Future Fight, PUBG Mobile, RuneScape, and Guns of Boom.

The Razer Phone 2 has been launched at a price of $799 and it will be available for buying in two colours: a glossy Mirror version and a matte Satin version. We still haven't heard anything regarding the battery and camera, though, so it's probably worth tuning into the live stream tonight.
