Kyle Edmund continued his strong campaign on the hard courts with a straight-sets win over Nicolas Jarry to reach the Shanghai Masters quarter-finals.

German tennis star Alexander Zverev gave a ballboy the fright of his life when he let out a massive roar while celebrating a point victor during his second-round match at the Shanghai Masters in China.

There are chances that the 21-year old might face Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic who are also competing in a Chinese city with the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals just around the corner.

All three still advanced at the Shanghai Masters on Wednesday.

"I played alright", Zverev assessed.

One moment in the match though went viral for hilarious reasons.

"I mean, I played all right".

He will have to get better in a hurry, because tough opponent Alex de Minaur awaits the No. 4 seed on Thursday.

But under pressure from the 32-year-old Gasquet, the third seed belatedly found his rhythm, coming from behind in both sets to win 7-5, 7-6 (9/7).

"It wasn't easy to play for me today", said Del Potro, who was under the weather in Beijing.

He further added, "you don't want to have them leave feeling like, oh my god, like I was not appreciated or I was not liked or it was actually a disgusting thing, you know? I did everything that I needed to win", said Zverev. The Argentine was the most recent player to clinch a berth, which he did last week in Beijing with a runner-up performance.
