Billy Joe Saunders to give up his WBO title

The adverse finding had been for the stimulant oxilofrine, which Warren says was in a "common decongestant nasal spray", and the fighter has maintained he is a "clean fighter to the bone".

Billy Joe Saunders launched a foul-mouthed rant at the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission on Tuesday night after being denied a boxing licence following his positive drugs test. Saunders told the hearing via speaker phone to "suck my p****' after the verdict ruled him out of his WBO middleweight title defence against Dimitrius Andrade in Boston on October 20".

Saunders and Andrade contracted with VADA to oversee a testing program for their fight. "He needs a recommendation from the British Boxing Board of Control [to have the suspension lifted], and if he does all that, we are willing to put him back in the rankings after his suspension". The substance they found in their test is prohibited by them, but under WADA it is allowed out of competition, which is up until the day before the fight. It is the simple facts and the truth.

The promoter insists it was "not a failed test" because the MSAC, which oversees licencing in Boston, did not follow WADA's rules.

He added the licence decision would be challenged in the Supreme Court.

"Cases such as these can take a considerable time to be heard and adjudicated on and, given the damaging effect these accusations of wrongdoing have had on Billy Joe, he is in no position to continue in his profession until such a time as his name has been cleared".

Legal proceedings may then be issued against the MSAC following the Superior Court hearing.

Kautondokwa (17-0 16KOs) has replaced Billy Joe Saunders in the bout with the unbeaten former Super-Welterweight World ruler, and "The Executioner" is full of belief that he can add to his formidable knockout record in MA having already been in camp.

When Kautondokwa got the call about possibly taking on Andrade, he had already been training even though a fight wasn't on the horizon. Billy-Joe has acknowledged past incidents that have painted him in a less than favourable light and fully accepted the punishments handed down to him.

"B.J. Saunders has voluntarily vacated the WBO middleweight title and publicly apologized for his violation of the Massachusetts Athletic Commission's anti-doping regulations", WBO president Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel said. And so was not prohibited for the goal of the application of the WADA list and therefore the application of the MSAC rules to Billy-Joe.
