Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson, Mark Hamill, Andy Serkis, Mark Strong, Liam Cunningham, Rhona Mitra, and Ben Mendelsohn are some of the AAA-stars we get a glimpse of; Henry Cavill also makes a surprise appearance, as his involvement in the project wasn't known until today.

Cloud Imperium Games has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Squadron 42 at CitizenCon.

Star Citizen has attracted much media attention since the game was first announced back in 2012, and this is not surprising. We've seen some glimpses of it already, but this is probably the most polished the game has ever been in the public eye. The player joins the eponymous squadron as a rookie combat pilot.

Cloud Imperium Games has also made big improvements to object streaming, reducing the load on your PC's CPU and increasing performance.

The trailer closes with the revelation that CIG will be publishing a "full roadmap to Squadron 42's release in December".

As well as that new feature, the Stanton System system will be populated with enemy AI for the FPS sections.

Co-developed with Faceware Technologies, "Face and Voice over IP" allows players to connect their webcams and control their in-game character's facial expressions with their own, creating a new level of immersion never before seen in video games.

And when I say a tonne, I mean basically at least one person that will come to mind when I ask you to think of actors.

As in the Wing Commander games though, this has a star-studded cast.
