Astros Vs. Red Sox

Devers was batting sixth and playing third base in place of Eduardo Nunez, who had a fielding error and let a two-run single go by him in Boston's 7-2 loss Saturday night in Game 1. The right-hander struck out 12 over seven innings in a 3-1 win Game 2 win against Cleveland in the Division Series. For the first three innings, it was a back-and-forth affair between the offenses of the Red Sox and Astros.

It seems the scheduling conflict affected the Patriots more, as their Sunday night broadcasts typically draw household ratings close to 40 in Boston.

And the Red Sox bullpen, long considered the weakest segment of the Boston roster, had to cover the 13 outs that Price left behind, an effort that was aided by the insurance runs the Red Sox scored in the seventh and eighth against the Astros' previously untouchable bullpen (albeit the lesser portion of it).

Once Price was out of the game, Matt Barnes got four outs with nary a scrape.

"That was big - going back to the second inning when I had an opportunity to have a shut-down inning and wasn't able to do that, giving up the two-out double to Springer, that stung", said Price.

"It's definitely appreciated", he said of the fan support Sunday night.

Price didn't have the outing he would have liked, but he certainly enjoys the end result. This time, the red-bearded right-hander put another fright into the Red Sox, surrendering a two-out run and once again - this time facing Astros third baseman Alex Bregman - pinning his own left fielder to the wall (albeit the short porch of the Green Monster) to catch the final out. "But I came here to win, period". I came here to win a World Series and to do it multiple times.

"I put myself aside". I understand the narratives and I deserve those. The Pats won the night, drawing a 33.7 rating for their Sunday night thriller against the Chiefs. It's not exactly the kind of positive takeaway you'd expect for a player making $30 million, but this is where we are with David Price.

On the local front, Houston was the No. 1 metered market, generating a 20.0 local rating, the highest-rated telecast ever for any program on TBS in the market while Boston generated a 19.8 HH rating, the best MLB Postseason telecast on TBS in the market since 2013.
