TV writer and producer Vinta Nanda's rape accusation and allegation against veteran actor Alok Nath shook the industry from its core.

The magistrate has now posted the matter for further hearing on November 1, when the court will also record statements of three witnesses on behalf of Nath and his wife. Soon after Vinta Nanda levelled the charges, other women who were allegedly harassed by Alok Nath earlier, came forward and shared their ordeals. later, actress Himani Shivpuri and Sandhya Mridul also accused the actor of indecent behaviours. Speaking to news agency ANI, Alok Nath's lawyer Ashok Saraogi had said that legal proceedings would be initiated against her. An application has been filed by Alok Nath's wife in Mumbai's Andheri Court against writer-producer Vinta Nanda seeking directions to Amboli police for taking cognisance of the complaint and investigating the matter as per CrPC 155 and complaint of given offences under 499, 500,34 and 114 of the IPC.

For those who are unaware, Nanda in her long and vivid Facebook post stated that Nath spiked her drink and raped her.

Nath's lawyer Ashok Sarogi, in a press conference on 11 October, had refuted the allegations and said they were baseless and devoid of any merit. The complaint reads, "Without commenting on anything about her (Nanda), the fact remains that all such occasions, such as the #MeToo campaign, are being encashed by way of utilising the social media for the goal of either gaining some name and fame or for the objective of defaming the reputation of a person".

She further wrote, "Midway I was accosted by this man who was driving his own auto and he asked me to sit in it and said he would drop me home". He asked me to come to his house again and I went to allow him to violate me. When I woke up the next afternoon, I was in pain.

"I hadn't just been raped, I was taken to my own house and had been brutalised", she had written. "I couldn't get up for my bed".

Alok Nath is supposed to reply by Monday evening and to IFTDA by Thursday.

With the #MeToo movement, the shocking revelations, the Hindi film industry have taken social media by storm.
