Netflix cancels Iron Fist after two seasons

Other Marvel shows have seen better fates at Netflix, with "Jessica Jones", "Luke Cage", and "Daredevil" receiving critical acclaim and the latter releasing its third season on october 19. The show's first season had awful reviews, and while the second season was perceived better, it appears that Season 1 really shut viewers off of ever tuning back in again.

Iron Fist star Finn Jones and showrunner M. Raven Metzner have addressed the cancellation of the show.

Others, however, were pretty indifferent about the whole thing.

Fans who watched the entire second season, which was released last month, were particularly disappointed. It had just made Colleen Wing the newest Iron Fist, and her close partnership with Misty Knight strongly hinted that the Daughters of the Dragon might soon make their Marvel debut. The second season's consensus reads, "Better action scenes and tighter pacing elevate Iron Fist's second season, but it remains a lesser light among MCU shows".

Iron Fist has lost his chi.

This is the first canceled Marvel series on Netflix.

In the meantime, both seasons of Iron Fist will remain available on Netflix, while season three of Daredevil premieres next week, and another season of both Jessica Jones and The Punisher are already in the works. Jones had this to say about the Iron Fist cancellation.

It makes sense, because Iron Fist's second season on Netflix ended on a doozy of a cliffhanger that turned an improved show into something downright beautifully wacky. Defending the greatest city in the world amongst the most talented and warmest people has been a privilege and a joy. Shame, hopefully not the last we have seen of the characters though. "Blessed to have taken this journey and grateful for the ongoing support".

Another possibility is that the character could always be featured on the new upcoming Disney Play app, as Marvel shows will be a part of the streaming network.

Netflix cancels Iron Fist, but will the mystic superhero move on to Disney's new streaming service?
