With production now underway on the three-night, Legends-less crossover, Amell shared the photo below which reveals Tyler Hoechlin, who will appear in all three episodes, to be donning Superman's black suit. The event will mark the introduction of Ruby Rose as Batwoman and the first appearance of Gotham City in the Arrowverse. Amell posted a photo of himself, alongside Hoechlin and Grant Gustin (The Flash).

One of the most popular "alternate looks" for Superman in the comics was the black costume that he wore when he came back from the dead in the "Reign of the Supermen" comic book storyline. They've both got chains attached to their black trousers (so '90s it hurts), and they're both wearing the same studded black boots. Seriously, why? Given that it's an Elseworlds story, it's not out of the questions to assume that perhaps there is some version of the character in the multiverse that is a little less happy-go-lucky than Tyler Hoechlin's take on Kal-El.

The good crossover news doesn't end there, though. Legends showrunner Keto Shimizu said, "During the week that all the other crossovers are happening, we will essentially be crossing over with ourselves", teasing that the Legends would explore "alternate time periods".

"That particular episode is insane", star Caity Lotz added. "I think they wanted to do something special since we weren't going to be doing the [Elseworlds] crossovers, You'll see a lot of different sides of the Legends". What remains to be seen is how it will play into the crossover, which is titled "Elseworlds".
