Meghan laughed: "Our first baby gift!"

And now comes the very welcome word that Harry and Meghan, the duchess of Sussex, are expecting their first child in the spring.

Everyone's feeling the love for the latest royal baby.

The palace confirmed to ET that Meghan is passed her 12-week pregnancy mark and is in "good health".

On her first morning in Australia, the first question the world had for the Duchess of Sussex, formerly known as Meghan Markle, was did she have morning sickness?

Word of the pregnancy came at the very start of their first extended royal tour as a couple.

The couple, officially the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is now on a 16-day tour of Australia and New Zealand, with their arriving in Sydney, holding hands, over the weekend.

But along with the dress the Duchess of Sussex also wore a loose coat, which she kept on the whole time, despite the weather being pretty nice on Friday actually - a very pleasant 20c, I'll have you know.

"Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex", someone else said. I tin that Prince Harry will have two daughters.

This is 100 per cent not the time to be dragging up the republican argument and beating people who are happy for Harry and Meghan over the head with it for supporting imperialism, or whatever.

The gesture was a wedding gift to the royal couple from the NSW Government, announced when they tied the knot in May.

Kensington Palace made the announcement after the duke and duchess arrived in Sydney on Monday on the eve of their 16-day major tour which will take in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.

After their arrival Monday in Sydney, Harry and Meghan held hands and walked out an airport rear entrance and into a vehicle.

Kensington Palace announced the news on Twitter early Monday.

Princess Eugenie has only just hung up her wedding gown, and already her cousin Prince Harry has stolen the spotlight.

Presented with the cuddly kangaroo, Meghan said: "Our first baby gift!" while Prince Harry described the boots as "awesome".

They'll then attend Sydney's Invictus Games, with Meghan also embarking on some solo engagements during the tour.
