Police in Tennessee say five people are dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide in Maury County, about 45 miles south of Nashville.

The children, three girls and one boy, have been identified as 14-year-old Bo Li, 14-year-old Meigin Lin, 15-year-old Lia Lin and 17-year-old Kaileigh Lin. Her children had all been shot. The boy was 14-years-old.

Collier's adult biological son found the bodies of his mother and step-siblings and called police after returning home from work at 6pm.

The woman, 55-year old Cynthia Collier, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All four were adopted and home-schooled, Rowland said.

Rowland said the sheriff's department is not searching for any suspects and that they're interviewing surviving family members.

Rowland said there was a piece of evidence left behind at the scene that leads them to believe this was a murder-suicide.

'Well we deal with hard situations, with carnage each and every day, but the magnitude of this is more than what we're used to on a day to day basis, ' said Rowland.

WTVF reported that the location of the father is unknown at this time.
