All That Remains Guitarist Oli Herbert Has Died, Aged 44

Oli Herbert, a founding member and lead guitarist of metal band All That Remains, has passed away at the age of 44.

There aren't any further details at this time.

"Oli was an incredibly talented guitarist and song writer who defined Rock and Metal from the Northeast [of America]", the statement continued.

The shocking news was confirmed on the band's Facebook page, where his bandmates paid tribute to their friend, saying that "his impact on the genre's and our lives will continue indefinitely".

In the band's own statement about Herbert's death, they encouraged fans to respect the privacy of the family, but to celebrate Oli's memory by reflecting on the great music he made.


Oli was one of the founding members of All That Remains, kicking off in 1998 with their first metal album coming out in 2002, Behind Silence and Solitude.

Herbert's cause of death is now unknown, however TMZ is reporting that he was found dead in a pond near his CT home.

Penley says: "On behalf of Oli's wife and family, I can confirm that Oli Herbert passed away yesterday unexpectedly as a result of an accident which occurred on the property of his home".

Herbert has appeared on all of their nine studio albums, including Victim of the New Disease, to be released in November.
