The Frozen star opened up to Parenting about her concerns after reading Snow White to her daughters Lincoln, five, and Delta, three.

Actress Kristen Bell who voices Disney princess Anna in Frozen and the upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet discussed her parenting techniques specifically some of the books she reads to her kids including Snow White in a recent interview.

"Every time we close Snow White I look at my girls and ask: 'Don't you think that it's weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission?'"

'I say, "I would never take food from a stranger, would you?"

Bell's comments about Snow White - mostly about consent - have Twitter buzzing.

"When you think rationally about "Snow White" and 'Sleeping Beauty, ' that tell of a 'princess being woken up by the kiss of a prince, ' they are describing sexual assault on an unconscious person", she wrote in Japanese, according to Fox News. "You don't think it's okay to let some wealthy, handsome sovereign give you an unconsented kiss simply because you're lying in a coma in glass coffin in the middle of the woods surrounded by crying dwarves and anthropomorphized forest animals, do you?"

Keira Knightley, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star, said in an interview on October 16 that she's banned "The Little Mermaid" and "Cinderella" from her house.

The actress revealed she is working on her own children's book and drew inspiration from a family favourite called Grumpy Monkey.

It's not the first time the story of Snow White has sparked controversy. "And my kids are like, 'No!' And I'm like, 'OK, I'm doing something right'".

I think The Little Mermaid teaches wrong values: girl gives up her voice to get legs to hook a boy she's never met - using only her looks! Bell recalls asking her daughters. "Don't. Rescue yourself, obviously".

And sometimes she asks the tougher questions.

"They're stubborn as all get out, but maybe they get that from me".

The 33-year-old actress said that the 1950's Cinderella character "waits around for a rich guy to rescue her". How does she know them?

What do you make of Bell's teaching techniques with her children?
