Although he didn't end up quitting, he was preparing to be booted out of the show at the weekend.

Sunday's results show saw Katie Piper become the next contestant to get the boot after the judges all voted to save Charles Venn.

It follows last weekend's exposé in the Sun on Sunday, which found the pair kissing after a boozy night out in London.

Talking to Tess, Katie said, "I have taken a lot from this experience and it has all been really positive, and I'll never forget this journey".

Well this week it was Katie Piper who made her departure from the dancefloor, after finding herself in the bottom two with dance partner Gorka Marquez for the first time.

After the latest elimination, fans were left divided in their reaction on social media, with many saying Walsh deserved to go.

"Cannot believe seann and katya got through, what a great advertisement for cheating!?!" ranted another person.

The dancing partners were forced to issue public apologies after they were spotted kissing on a "drunken" night out, despite both being in relationships.

Andrew Robert Lee said: Considering what a hard week Seann and Katya have had and how awkward dancing that must have been in front of a live studio and TV audience I'd have given them 10. "Our relationship wasn't flawless, that doesn't mean I wanted it to end the way it finally did".

"I'm so sorry about any offence or hurt I may have caused with my actions", the dancer tweeted.

Their performance impressed the judges, but lost a few marks.

The actress posted an excoriating statement on Twitter in which she accused him of "controlling behaviour" and said he had called her a "psycho".

One viewer suggested the show had failed to address the elephant in the room by not referring to the kiss.

Following their dance to the Charleston on the show, Walsh said "there was a point where I thought "I can't do this".

But judge Craig Revel Horwood told The Jonathan Ross Show: "My take was keep them in the show, make them do the dance of shame, if you like".

Following the rollercoaster of a week for the dancing partners, the news must have been music to the BBC's ears - the Saturday night show was watched by almost 12 million viewers.
