According to a report in Pinkvilla, Anu Malik said that he has made a decision to take a break from Indian Idol as he is now unable to focus on his work, his music and the show. Recently, composer Any Malik was accused for sexual harassment by Sona Mohapatra and Shweta Pandit and also two survivors opened about him. She revealed that he misbehaved with her, when she was a greenhorn in the Hindi music industry.

When indianexpress.com reached out to Malik for a comment, he said, "I have issued a statement to the channel 'I, Anu Malik, have chose to take a break from Indian Idol as I am now unable to focus on my work on the show.' The channel has been kind to agree for the same". Describing the incident on Twitter, Shweta wrote, "He was recording a group song with Sunidhi and Shaan for the film "Awara Pagal Deewana", when my mother and I walked in the monitor room".

"The allegations made against my client are emphatically denied as completely false and baseless". After working on song Anu called her, "Beta aap kuch ganna sung chahte ho toh suno". After she was done singing, he complimented her and said he'll let her know if he has work for her in the future. "This is really shocking and sad that today people can pass any comment without any proof", he added.

"I went numb and pale in the face".

On October 17, She recounted an incident from 2001 when she had gone to meet Malik at his studios.

While recounting the incident, the survivor told Mid-Day, "He simply unzipped his trousers and asked me to lick him!" I was only 15 years old then, still in school. In an interview with Mid-Day, the two survivors narrated the story of being assaulted and harassed by Anu Malik.

Calling it the "worst experience of her life", the singer said she was depressed for months after the incident and could not even bring it up with her parents.
