Hemsworth and Zocchi had spotted the musician after arriving in the eastern city of Brisbane, and chose to offer him a lift.

The Thor star posted an Instagram video of himself and friend Luke Zocchi picking up USA musician Scott Hildebrand in Brisbane, just arrived from Mexico.

After picking him up in their vehicle, Hemsworth revealed to Hildebrand that they'd be going to Byron by chopper and asked he could: "Chip in for the gas, alright?"

In the dreamy video, edited with some chilled tunes, nearly like it was all deliberate..., the two mates circled back, while they were still driving, to pick up Hildebrand, who was toting a telltale hitchhiker's sign, before telling him he's on his way to Byron via the air.

The tourist, an American musician by the name of Scott Hildebrand, had chose to stand by the side of the road and see whether anyone would give him a lift south to Byron Bay.

"Little does he know we're getting a chopper", Zocchi says.

The duo, the hitchhiker and his guitar then pile into the helicopter and make their way to Hemsworth's Byron pad.

"Alright Scotty, dream's over back to the normal hitchhiking, combis and stuff mate, you're on", Hemsworth said.
