- While showing support for Florida Republican Gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis, President Donald J. Trump tweeted that Florida Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum runs one of the worst and most corrupt cities in the United States.

Trump's comments come the day before DeSantis and Gillum's first scheduled debate.

The new DeSantis poll shows a similar difference in results among those who already voted compared to the electorate at large.

A Real Clear Politics average of polls in the U.S. Senate race has Nelson ahead by 1.3 points.

DeSantis said Gillum would hurt Florida's economy by raising taxes and hiking the minimum wage.

DeSantis' campaign released its internal numbers along with a lengthy statement Sunday ripping CNN for releasing what it called "a questionable and misleading poll attempting to portray DeSantis as trailing Gillum by double digits".

"This survey included over 2,000 live interviews with a projected universe reflecting a historic midterm election turnout among Democratic and women voters", Wiles wrote.

Florida Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Andrew Gillum now leads the polls against Republican Ron DeSantis, with 45.3%.
