Three of the victims are in critical condition, police said.

Officials are investigating the possibility that the shooting may be gang related.

Deputies said a gunman in a gray or silver auto drove up to the front of the laundromat and opened fire on the victims, who range in age from 20 to 70. The Sheriff's Office said the shooting did not impact the game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were in the middle of a game at TIAA Bank Field when the shooting took place.

The vehicle then fled westbound on Pippin Street.

In August, a man opened fire and shot two people dead and later killed himself during a gaming tournament in downtown Jacksonville.

The area surrounding the shooting is closed and the investigation is active now.

Authorities had no immediate report on what led up to the shootings. The agency did not have an update on the victims medical conditions. Said Lendvay: "We just don't know". He said the vehicle left the area and authorities were checking surveillance video to try to locate it and find those involved.

"We haven't been able to interview them (the victims) at all".

Police said Jaguars fans who were parked near the shooting scene would be escorted to their vehicles by police.

"In talking to the sheriff's department; they are going to beef up patrols".

Florida Gov. Rick Scott also said in a statement that he had reached out to Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams, offering any state resources Jacksonville may need.
