Jon James McMurray passed away on Saturday while filming an airplane stunt in British Columbia, multiple outlets report.

"He impacted and died instantly", said Ryan Desrochers with the management team told CNN in a statement.

Canadian rapper Jon James McMurray has been killed while performing an airplane stunt.

Jon James McMurray was named by his team on Monday after the accident on the weekend saw the 34-year-old die "instantly" when the pilot was unable to correct a downward spiral.

By the time Jon let go of the wing, he didn't have time to open his parachute and then died instantly upon impact.

"Jon was an incredibly passionate person and was always smiling", the statement continues.

A statement from McMurray's management to ET on Tuesday shared that McMurray - who is no stranger to performing extreme stunts - trained intensely for months before the shoot.

His body was found in a field in Westwold, northwest of Vernon, CBC News reported.

In the video posted to Instagram on October 2, McMurray is with Squamish's Rory Bushfield, a Canadian professional skier and base jumper, and fellow base jumper Cody Matechuk, the 2018 Snow BikeCross gold medalist at the X Games. He is survived by Father Doug McMurray, Mother Jen McMurray, brother Jarred McMurray, wife Kali James McMurray, and countless close friends and fans alike.

RCMP Const. Kelly Brett said the coroners service and Transportation Safety Board are all investigating the death. "We're not really sure what happened". There were two planes involved and no one else was injured, she added.

"It was a tragedy when he broke his back. but he took that as a positive and it drove him to do some incredible things", he said. "I'm gonna miss him so much".
