Netflix has announced that Matt Groening's fantasy series Disenchantment has been renewed for another 20-episode season, which means we'll be getting new episodes through at least 2021.

There's no better feeling than when Netflix renew one of your favourite shows for a new season.

Speaking about this news, Groening said that: "We're excited to continue this epic journey with Netflix".

The first ten episodes were released in August, with another ten already scheduled for next year. But that renewal actually guarantees two more years of the series. Season Three is expected to follow in 2020, and Season Four in 2021.

The kingdom of Dreamland will remain open. Disenchantment follows Princess Bean (Abbi Jacobson), her companion Elfo (Nat Faxon) and her personal demon Luci (Eric Andre) as they navigate the landscape and try to live their lives to the fullest, despite whatever expectations have been placed upon them by the society they live in. Additional voices include Futurama vets John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille and David Herman.

As detailed by The Hollywood Reporter, the streamer handed Disenchantment another 20-episode order that will carry the show through a fourth season. However, he has taken time to work on other projects every now and again.

If you enjoyed the first season of Disenchantment on Netflix, then we've got some good news for you.

As the Disney purchase of Fox looms, the future of shows like The Simpsons is, to some degree, uncertain. As mentioned above, many wanted to like this show, and I don't think any of the naysayers would say this show has zero potential. Well, whatever we want to call it, it looks like we'll be seeing a lot of Disenchantment in the future.
