PUBG appears on PS4 store database, game due in December

The battle royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has received a number of indicators that the now Xbox and PC exclusive title may be headed to the PS4 soon.

While you can download the game for free now, but you'll only be able to play with full functionality from November 8-11, according to a post from Xbox on Wednesday. A PSNProfiles user says that Sony's servers have updated with the game's title picture and content ID.

While there is no announcement as to why this is happening, Xbox owners who navigate to the Xbox One store can quickly pick up the games for no cost at all!

Adding fuel to the fire, Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad revealed on ResetEra that PUBG is indeed due for release in December on PS4.


The discovery of the PSN Profiles comment sparked a new discussion on ResetEra where people speculated that the game might be coming to the PlayStation 4 next month since the game came to the Xbox One's Game Preview program in December 2017.

This comes on the back of the September leak that the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee had rated PUBG for PS4. It's unclear how long Microsoft plans to run the promotion for so if you want to try out PUBG on the Xbox, you should probably claim your free copy ASAP. Where Fortnite retains a heavy focus on construction to achieve victory, PUBG forgoes crafting in favour of a more militaristic approach to battle. PUBG's PC player numbers have dropped quite a bit, with most players now seemingly Chinese mobile ones.
