Xiaomi Releases AirDots Wireless Earbuds With Bluetooth 5.0

Xiaomi has unveiled a set of earbuds that look very similar to the Apple AirPods but are much cheaper. These new AirDots by Xiaomi use Bluetooth 5.0 and bear a price tag of 199 Yuan or about Rs 2,100. Moreover, this wireless headset weighs just 4.2 grams and the design that comes with certain soundproof effects. The internal battery inside the headphones is good for four hours of use per charge in stereo mode or five hours in mono mode; the included wireless charging case extends runtime to 12 hours.

When kept inside the charging box, the headsets are turned off automatically and are instantly put on charging. If the earbuds have been paired to a device previously, they automatically connect to the paired device (provided it's within range) when powered on. These AirDots headset by Xiaomi goes on sale live on November 11 midnight Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, Tmall, Jingdong, and Suning. Unfortunately, no news yet of global availability but Xiaomi does have some events scheduled this week so that may still happen.


The company claims that with the support of Bluetooth 5.0, the frequent single-ear disconnections can be reduced by a big margin which will allow its users to enjoy music without interruptions. The surface of both earbuds is touch-sensitive and can be used to execute actions like play/pause music, handle calls, and more.

The AirDots Youth Edition will also be supporting two-way wake-ups and with the aggressive pricing from Xiaomi, it will be interesting how it will be competing with other wireless headsets in the market.
