Facebook Messenger Unsend Message Feature Will Come With 10-Minute Limit

"Remove a message from a chat thread after it's been sent".

Twitter user Matt Navarra shared what he found when he spotted this feature - and its time limit - being listed as "coming soon".

Facebook Messenger is the latest app to allow its users to change their minds about messages after they've sent out into the world. WhatsApp gives users a full hour to take back a text, and Instagram gives its users an unlimited window to delete direct messages.

While the update wasn't publicly announced, digital media expert Matt Navarra discovered Facebook's plans far down in the release notes for version 191.0 of Messenger's iOS client.

Earlier this year, reported that the company was deleting old Facebook messages sent by Mark Zuckerberg from its recipients inboxes.

Users may now delete messages on the Messenger app but it only reflects on the sender's end and remains on the recipient's thread.

However, it should be noted that Facebook's unsend feature for both Messenger and WhatsApp work differently from Gmail's.

Have you ever sent a message and immediately regretted it?

Now, it remains to be seen when exactly Facebook will make the option to unsend messages available to everyone because "coming soon" doesn't tells us too much about that.
