And the Barbados beauty is not the first person to stop Trump from using their music as Pharrell Williams" lawyer recently sent a cease-and-desist letter to Trump after he played "Happy' at a political rally in IN last week, just hours after a mass shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Rihanna now joins the growing list of artists making sure their music is not played at President Trump's rallies.

"Trump's unauthorized use of Ms. Fenty's music... creates a false impression that Ms. Fenty is affiliated with, connected to or otherwise associated with Trump". "Such use is therefore improper", stated the letter from the Bad Girl singer's legal team to White House counsel, according to Rolling Stone magazine.

Rucker, who was on the ground on Sunday, tweeted about the scene: "Currently, Rihanna's Don't Stop The Music is blaring in Chattanooga as aides toss free Trump T-shirts into the crowd, like a ball game".

Rihanna previously took to Twitter to promise she would stop her music from being played at Trump "tragic rallies".

The pop star was alerted via Twitter that the U.S. president had played her 2007 hit Don't Stop The Music at an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Sunday.

The blanket licenses in question, which are issued by performing-rights organisations (PROs) such as ASCAP and BMI and apply to the venues at which the rallies are taking place, do provide protections for the use of music that the PROs represent, leaving the artists little legal recourse short of withdrawing from the blanket license.
