The makers of the film, Thugs of Hindostan, have released it on the occasion of Diwali and it's the first time that Bollywood's two superstars Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are sharing the big screen. The promo set the expectations further high and though the follow through wasn't really extraordinary (which would have nearly guaranteed an All Time Blockbuster Opening), the fact still remains that the industry is assured of an excellent first day number for sure.

"In all the languages, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, Thugs of Hindostan will earn Rs 50 crore on the day of its release". The film - which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Jackie Shroff and Shashank Arora - is all set to hit the theatres on November 8.

"Thugs of Hindostan" is based on Philip Meadows Taylor's 1839 novel "Confessions of a Thug" and is about a gang who posed a serious challenge to the British Empire in India (then known as Hindustan or Hindostan) during the early 19th century.

Making the most out of the festive holiday of Diwali, Yash Raj Films is releasing Thugs of Hindostan a day after the festival of lights.

With 5000 screens in its kitty, including 21 IMAX screens, we are expecting the film to collect between Rs 45 to Rs 50 crore on its first day, which will make it the biggest opener of all-time, even surpassing Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year (Rs 44.97 crore). So, for you, we have filtered the 3 most important milestones which we think the film can achieve at the box office.

The film's pre-sales on day one is better than Salman Khan-starrer Tiger Zinda Hai, Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju and Hollywood offering Avengers - Infinity War. The Box Office India report also adds that opening day advance for Thugs of Hindostan is at a record pace or very close to it after the first day.

The film also stars English actor Lloyd Owen essaying a significant role.
