Brodie Van Wagenen avoids speaking in absolutes, so when Tim Tebow's name was mentioned Tuesday, the new Mets general manager wasn't going to place a ceiling on the former Heisman Trophy victor. Van Wagenen worked as an agent for CAA, and some of their clientele includes Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, Yoenis Cespedes, Brandon Nimmo, and many more.

With these announcements, the Mets' new hire has seemed to dive head first into his General Manager duties.

Amaro, the former Phillies GM, has a relationship with Van Wagenen based on their shared Stanford roots and is viewed as a front-office asset who can assist with personnel decisions.

"I think in my transition, he can be a valuable asset for me in the front office, " Van Wagenen said.

Roessler was promoted to hitting coach from assistant when Kevin Long left for Washington after the 2017 season.

Bones had been the Mets' bullpen coach since 2012, when he arrived as part of a shakeup to manager Terry Collins' staff. Former agent, Brodie Van Wagenen will take over as the GM of the Mets after they parted ways with Sandy Alderson last season. Van Wagenen did not specify if all three had made a decision to stay with the Mets long term.

Tim Tebow #15 (New York Mets) of the Scottsdale Scorpions warms up in the dugout during the Arizona Fall League game against the Peoria Javelinas at Peoria Stadium on October 13, 2016 in Peoria, Arizona. "He will be going to big league camp, and we'll try to get him as many at-bats as we can and see if we can make a decision in terms of how ready he is". Van Wagenen is trying to change the culture of the New York Mets and installing new coaches is a great way to accomplish this goal.
